INJECTABLE FILLERS:
Injectable fillers are used to restore volume and help reduce the appearance of fine lines. They are injected during an office procedure, after a numbing medication is administered. The results can be seen almost immediately. Side effects are typically minimal and include minor bruising and/or temporary swelling at the site of the injection for the first 24-48 hours.
WHY ARE INJECTABLES SO POPULAR?
Injectable fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, are temporary fillers composed of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the human body. Its properties make it an excellent filler because it absorbs large amounts of water, is compatible within the body, it is safe, and it can be dissolved if needed. As we age, we lose volume in our face. Fillers can help restore that volume that is lost with the aging process. However, it is important to seek treatment from only a board-certified physician.
I AM INTERESTED IN FILLERS, BUT I DON’T WANT TO LOOK STRANGE.
This is a valid concern that many patients have. Luckily, Dr. Rogal agrees, and does not want you to look “overdone” either. It is very important that you look like yourself, just more refreshed. Often times, the overdone look is due to excess filler being placed in regions of the face that make the patient look bizarre. Dr. Rogal will analyze your unique facial anatomy to determine where you may or may not benefit from fillers.
